Kelly Clarkson was an American artist and songwriter who was the American sweetheart after she won American Idol in the first series. The show's winning that ushered Kelly Clarkson to fame, it also landed her a deal with RCA Records 19 Recordings & S Records to release a variety of albums. Since her debut in the series, she has released a number of albums. Three of those albums were ranked first on the US Billboard 200. The others were near the top. She's one of the biggest artists that have come out of American Idol. She experimented as she gained popularity with diverse musical and theme styles. She often composed her own songs. With her distinct voice and unique ability, she was awarded high praise and numerous prizes. Notably, she's been awarded the Grammy Award a record three times. She also has been featured in television and films. She also wrote the kids' novel River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and is involved with various charitable organizations.
