Harry Edward Styles, known as Harry Styles in the world of pop music. under the name Harry Styles, is a British composer and performer who is regarded as one of the members of the group One Direction. Harry Styles was born in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England on February 1, 1994, and is the son of Des Styles and Anne Cox. Harry Styles attended the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive school where, with three other students, he founded his own group of musicians, called White Eskimo. They took home the Battle of Bands in 2009, thanks to their outstanding performances. Even though he had an interest in music as well, he was also interested in becoming an attorney or physiotherapist. He worked at a local bakery part-time to help the family with financial issues. For the year 2010 Harry Styles presented audition for The X Factor where he sang Is not She Lovely by Stevie Wonder and was selected. The group was then forced to disband due to the fact that they were selected. Nicole Scherzinger, the jury participant on The X Factor suggested Harry Styles join a band called One Direction with Liam Payne Zayn Mlik Niall Horan Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne. The creation of the group became a reality in the year 2010. The five members were sponsored by Simon Cowell. The group played songs, such as My Life Would Suck Without You by Kelly Clarkson and Total Eclipse of the Heart from Bonnie Tyler so the group became one of the candidates to be the winner. The group was placed third behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle. Harry Styles, his group and Cowell failed to take home the race. However, Cowell offered Harry Styles a 2 million pound contract to sign up with Syco.
