Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn. She lived with 12 other children. Her imaginative mind enabled her to escape the grim realities of life. She was writing songs before she could read or write. She got her first guitar at age 8 and began singing on the Knoxville Tenn radio station at 11 years old. In the same year she made her debut album Gold Band Records an independent small-scale label. While she was in school, she had established a name for herself on the local scene. However, her goal was to become more acknowledged. Following her graduation from highschool in 1964, she immediately relocated to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first track to hit the charts for Monument Records. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female performer for his show that was syndicated at this point. Parton accepted the role in 1966. She was then signed to RCA Records in 1968, and the Grand Ole Opry was founded in the year 1969. However she left Wagoner's show in 1974, as her own music, including Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene had begun charting their collaborative efforts. Parton, after the split of their collaboration with Wagoner She wrote her hit song"I'll Always Be Loved" by You and saw it climb to Number. The first time it made it to number 1 was in 1974.
